Saturday Quick Hitters

James Posey is still a member of the 2008 NBA Free Agent Class. I assume that "a day or two", which is when agent Mark Bartelstein stated P0sey would have a decision by on Wednesday, means "a week or two".

I am not going to mention the Brett Favre saga until it comes to a conclusion. Period.

Carlos Carrasco, the Phillies top-pitching prospect, came out of the game after 42 pitches last night (BTW Matt LaPorta, late of the CC Sabathia deal, hit the game winning homer last night for Akron). According to Reading's Director of Communications Rob Hackash, Carlos "was on a pitch count", no more, no less. He is working his way back from a shoulder strain and there are rumors that Carrasco may be called up a la Kyle Kendrick to give the Phils some ammo in the stretch run. He has also been rumored to start the Futures Game at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, but I don't think that will happen where he pitched on Friday night.

The Red Sox got to feel a little "Orioles Magic" last night.

The Rays are on a slide.

Not much else today that I want to hit on. Remember tomorrow afternoon, "The Sports Vortex", 4pm est. You can listen right here using the Talkshoe player in the upper left hand corner or you can go to WJZF and stream from their site. If you miss it, don't stress, it will be posted as a podcast as well.

One more Phillies note, the exiled Brett Myers will be starting for Reading tonight. I guess he told Lehigh Valley "Boom, outta here!"

What will I be watching tonight?
The Phils are stuck in Fox regional hell, Rich Harden is pitching right now for the Cubs, so I think tonight's game of choice will be White Sox at Rangers. John Danks goes for the pale hose, while Kevin Millwood gets the call for the Rangers. I will be watching it on HD channel 732-1 on Directv.
