Jed Lowrie to Attend Sea Dogs Hot Stove Dinner



The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will host a Hot Stove Dinner and Silent Auction on Friday, January 15th at 5:30 PM at the Wyndham Hotel in South Portland. Red Sox infielder and former Portland Sea Dog Jed Lowrie will be the featured guest at the dinner. Additional guests will be announced. All proceeds from the dinner and silent auction will benefit the Strike Out Cancer in Kids Program.

Tickets for the event are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Hadlock Field Ticket Office, by phone at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com. Only 300 tickets are available for this event, tickets cost $50 each. Everyone who attends will receive a signed 8 X 10 photo of Jed Lowrie.

The 25 year-old, Lowrie, was an Eastern League All-Star with the Sea Dogs in 2007 hitting .297 (100-for-337) in 93 games with eight home runs and 49 RBI before being promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket on July 27th. Lowrie reached base safely in 38 consecutive games for the Sea Dogs from April 29th through June 9th, the third longest streak in franchise history. Lowrie was named the Red Sox Minor League Offensive Player of the Year in 2007. The Salem, Oregon native was selected by the Red Sox fourth pick (45th overall) in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft.
