The Portland Sea Dogs threw away a win tonight, literally.
2 Errors by Andrew Pinckney led to 4 unearned runs for the Akron Aeros and helped key a comeback for a team that was totally shut down in the first 5 innings by recent Sea Dog acquisition Dave Gassner, who was throwing a shutout going into the 6th. He ran into trouble in the 6 th and finished with 2 earned runs, highlighted by Pinckney's throwing error. The Aeros managed to come up with 3 runs in the 6th, 4 runs in the 7th, and 2 each in the 8th and 9t to pull out an improbable win.
Final Score Akron 11 Portland 10.
