Other Stuff (the Afternoon Edition)

NBA

Renaldo Balkman, the worst draft pick of the Zeke-era, is rumored to be headed to the Nuggets.

There was a rumor over the weekend that the Atlanta Hawks had offers from a "Western Conference Power" and "an eastern conference big dog"(which was widely assumed to be Detroit Pistons) for Josh Smith in a sign and trade. Well according to Michigan Live, the Pistons are not that team. My guesses for the mystery teams? Cleveland from the East, the Lakers from the West.

Andris Beidrins is headed back to GSW hoops, not to Europe. Niiiiiice....

NFL

The Bears think Kevin Jones should invest in Wii Fit, or maybe just cut down on the cheeseburgers.

According to Peter King, the Brett Favre saga is about to get uglier. Let me be the first to say "ugh". Carry on...

Brandon Marshall's new nickname should be "Pacman"

The Packers aren't only having Favre issues, they just pissed off Ryan Grant.

Great article in the NY Times about the Jets and how Mangini may be coaching to save his NFL Career. The Patriots may end up with the last laugh in that situation if after snitching on the Patriots, Mangini ends up coaching Alabama A+M next season...

MLB

The Yankees have given the Mariners a "Take it or leave it" deal for Washburn. The Mariners deserve to spend 15 years in last place if they don't do this deal for Washburn and free up that money for next year.

The Atlanta Braves are in hot pursuit of Jason Bay, but the Bucs aren't pulling over.
