HMMM....UNI putting the cart before the horse a bit?!?

Here is a letter sent to UNI Students and Fans

"To all of the great students of the University of Northern Iowa:

As the Head Football Coach for this great University I would like to
wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving. Campus is very quiet when you
are all missing and I know all of us at the University enjoy the energy
you bring to our campus.

If you have not yet heard, we have been awarded a #3 seed in the NCAA
Playoffs that begin this Saturday at 4 p.m. This seed assures us,
(should we win), two home games and possibly a third. This Saturday we
will play the University of Maine. Thanksgiving weekend is always a
challenging weekend to have a home game with travel and costs that occur
during the holiday season for fans and students.

As a result of this, it is with sincere thanks that we extend to all the
students who have purchased a ticket to this weekend's game. The
commitment you made to come back should and will be rewarded. For all
students who attend this weekend's game, we will provide your ticket at
no cost for our second round game against either Southern Illinois or
New Hampshire. Students will be able to get their free ticket at a
campus box office location (Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center
ticket office or the McLeod Center ticket office).

We still need to win the first game to advance to round two, but this is
a way we can show our thanks for bringing the energy you do to our
games. This is an opportunity for me, our coaching staff, and our
football program to say thanks to our students for their loyal support
this Thanksgiving weekend. You've helped build a great home-field
advantage for the Panthers week-in and week-out.

We wish you safe travels this weekend and look forward to your return to
campus.

Mark Farley
UNI Head Football Coach "
