The Red Sox today announced that they have optioned right-handed pitchers Michael Bowden and Ramon A. Ramirez, and first baseman Aaron Bates to Triple-A Pawtucket. Also, right-hander Jorge Sosa has been reassigned to minor league camp.
The announcements were made by Executive Vice President/General Manager Theo Epstein.
With today’s moves, the Red Sox now have 40 players in Big League camp, including 8 non-roster invitees.
