Wednesday Weekly Awards
Player of the Week: Steve Holcomb. The US bobsled skip drove America to victory for the first time since 1948 in the 4-man. Honorable Mention goes to the US Nordic Combined team that won medals for the first time ever in the event.
Team of the Week: The Canadian Hockey Team. Ca-na-da EFF-YEAH…Coming to save the mother@#$% Maple Syrup YEAH!!!!
Coach of the Week: Mike Brey: Led his team to two wins over ranked opponents last week without Luke Harangody. Notre Dame now a solid bubble team.
Goat(s) of the Week: Me. So, I took a few weeks off from this column…call it an Olympic break.
Play of the Week: Maurice Edu scores the winner! Edu scores possibly the biggest goal an American ever has scored in club play overseas, giving Rangers the 1-0 win over Celtic in the Old Firm.
Vindication of the Week: Jay Wright still can’t coach. So your team isn’t consistently hitting from the outside. You are in danger of being blown out. What do you do? Maybe try to slow play down, and look for more high percentage shots? NO!!!! If you’re Jay Wright, you tell your team to “SHOOT MORE THREE’s BEFORE THE SHOT CLOCK HITS 30!!!!!!” Just because you can recruit doesn’t make you a good coach.
Website of the Week: Word Twist on Facebook. The most addicted I have been to something since I quit smoking.
Technology of the Week: MAG. This game looks more amazing than curling.
Upcoming Game(s) of the Week: Its Tourney Time baby. Get read for a month of fantastic finishes, and wild upsets. That’s college basketball.
Chris Sedenka is the host of the PM Jab daily from 3p-7p on 96.3 The Big Jab and the play-by-play guy for the NBA D-League's Maine Red Claws.
