Red Claws add Sims

The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that they have acquired forward DeShawn Sims via the Available Player Pool. Sims will practice with the team on Thursday in preparation for the Red Claws two-game set this weekend with the Springfield Armor. To make room for Sims on the roster, the team has waived Lamonte Ulmer.

Sims, 22, joins the Red Claws from PAOK Thessaloniki (Greece), where he averaged 12.3 ppg in 3 games played this season. The 6-8, 220 lb. forward out of the University of Michigan, signed with PAOK Thessaloniki after playing for the Boston Celtics during the NBA Summer League in Orlando and the Dallas Mavericks in Las Vegas. As a senior at Michigan, he averaged 16.8 points and 7.6 rebounds.
