Bowdoin's Hanley honored with two post-season awards

Bowdoin College junior men's basketball player Will Hanley (New Canaan, Conn.) has collected two more postseason awards following one of the finest individual seasons in program history. Hanley was named Second Team All-Northeast Region by D3Hoops.com and Second Team All-Northeast District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Named a First Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference selection earlier this month, Hanley was among the conference leaders in several categories. He became the first Polar Bear in 16 years to average a double-double in a single season, recording 14 in all during the 2010-11 campaign. His 19.8 points per game put him first in the NESCAC, while his 11.3 rebounds rank second.

In the team's regular season finale on February 12 at Wesleyan, Hanley became the 21st player in program history to surpass 1,000 points. In addition, he is only the 10th Polar Bear to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career. After 75 career games, Hanley has 1,030 points and 599 rebounds.

Bowdoin finished the 2010-11 season with a record of 14-10, falling the NESCAC Quarterfinals to Williams College.
