MSM: 2012 Kentucky Derby Picks

Churchill Downs offers a 50 cent Trifecta for the Derby, so with the lack of a 10 cent super here's my play:

Boxed 50 Cent Trifecta: 3,10,13,15,16,18 - $60

As many of you know, I am loathe to use chalk (in my view anything less than 8 to 1 in a twenty horse field is chalk) in races like this, and although Take Charge Indy may be down to the 5 to 1 or 7 to 1 range by post time, I really like him as my pick. Gemologist reminds me a little of the late Barbaro, an unbeaten horse that many are pegging as a dark horse in lieu of being a favorite, so I am including him here as well. Daddy Nose Best, Went The Day Well, El Padrino and Sabercat are all good value and, depending on how the final stretch goes, could end up at the top or near the top of the board.
