Monday Morning Quick Hitters

Well the bubble that was the New England Patriots winning steak is over, after a blasting at Foxboro by the Miami Dolphins of all teams. The Dolphins won 38 - 13.

The Silver and Black will most likely be looking for a new coach today as the Oakland Raiders blew a late lead and allowed the Buffalo Bills to drive to a last second win. The Bills won 24 - 23.

The Philadelphia Eagles won the battle of Pennsylvania, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 15 - 6.

The Indianapolis Colts lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 23 - 21. Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor both topped 100 yards rushing.

The Atlanta Falcons Michael Turner scored 3 TDs and Matt Ryan was very efficient on the way to doubling up the Kansas City Chiefs 38 - 14.

The Chicago Bears blew a double digit lead in the 2nd half, allowing Tampa Bay to tie and ultimately win in overtime 27 - 24.

The Dallas Cowboys knocked the Aaron Rogers train off its tracks Sunday Night, 27 - 16.

The Minnesota Vikings avoid 0 - 3 by beating up on the Carolina Panthers 20 - 10.

The Bengals pushed the New York Giants to the brink, but, as usual, couldn't hold on and lost to the Giants 26 - 23.

The Tennessee Titans continue to prove that they may be the surprise class of the NFL. The Titans had little problem with the Houston Texans yesterday 31 - 12.

The Washington Redskins used a timely interception to roll to victory over the Arizona Cardinals 24 - 17.

The San Francisco 49ers used Mike Martz to roll all over the Detroit Lions 31 - 13.

Shoot out at Mile High on Sunday. The Denver Broncos outlasted the New Orleans Saints 34 - 32.

In the game that less than no one cares about, the Seattle Seahawks beat the St Louis Rams 37 - 13.


The Boston Red Sox got their league leading 16th shutout of the season, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 3 - 0. Dice K got his 18th win of the season. The Sox are 1 1/2 games back of the Rays.

The New York Yankees got the win in the last game at old Yankee Stadium, beating the Baltimore Orioles 7 - 3. Last one out the door clean up the urine.

The Tampa Bay Rays lost part of their lead against the Boston Red Sox by losing to the Minnesota Twins 4 - 1. The Twins are 2 1/2 games back of the Chicago White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox kept the Twins down by beating the KC Royals 3 - 0.

The Philadelphia Phillies took advantage of the New York Mets losing to the Atlanta Braves 7 -6, by beating the Florida Marlins 5 - 2. The win put the Phillies 1 1/2 game up on the Mets in the NL East race and the Mets loss moved them only 1 1/2 game up on Milwaukee for the Wild Card lead.

Speaking of the Brew Crew, the Brewers aren't dead yet, beating the Reds 8 - 1.

The LA Dodgers let a little ray of hope to spring into Arizona as the Dodgers lost a 1 - 0 game against the San Francisco Giants and the Diamondbacks won 13 - 4 against the Colorado Rockies. The D-Backs are now 2 1/2 games back of the Dodgers.
