Maine High School Football Title Games Coming back to the Radio Airwaves

For the first time in over two decades, the state of Maine's High School Football Title Games will be broadcast on local radio. MBR.org and CMSB Media will be producing the broadcasts after recently reaching a deal with the Maine Principal's Association. The games will air on 96.3 The Big Jab on November 21st.

“The response from The Big Jab, 96.3, to broadcast a High School Sports event of this magnitude, speaks volumes of their commitment to providing local coverage at all levels. The MPA has approved the broadcast and we’re looking forward to providing a full day of football talk and action. To partner up with the CMSB and to produce this event is great for Maine High School sports,” said Tom Nolette of MBR.ORG

“I am pretty excited to be a part of this,” said CMSB Media's publisher Matt Boutwell, who will be reporting from the sidelines of each of the three games and co-hosting "The Big Jab Weekend Warm-up" live from the event. “It's something that many in this state have asked about for years, and for 4 groups to get together and make this happen for the good of student-athletes in this state is pretty remarkable.”

All three games, Class A,B, and C will be broadcast on 96.3, preceded by the Saturday morning "Big Jab Weekend Warm-up", hosted by Boutwell and Jeff Schools, the Senior Associate Editor for CMSB Media. There will also be pre and post-game shows for each game and coverage in between games.

“As a station committed to bringing you local sports and talk, we are excited to bring the high school championships to the airwaves,” said Big Jab program director David “Shoe” Schumacher.

I can't take full credit here. Jeff came up with the idea, Tom Nolette from MBR.org thought it was a good idea, and the JAB is allowing us to do it. All I did was help get these crazy kids together, now I get to stand on the sidelines for 10 hours November 21st and watch the 6 best teams in the sate square off. I appreciate the kind words though, and I am glad you're excited.
