Patriots, Crumpler Reach Agreement

According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Patriots have agreed to a deal with with free agent Alge Crumpler. The Patriots and Crumpler met 10 days ago in Foxboro to talk about a potential deal with the Pats.

Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper is reporting that Crumpler and the Patriots are close, although a contract probably won't be signed until next week.

The thinking here is waiting until next week will allow the Patriots and Crumpler to still look and pursue other options according to sources.

The Patriots are in need of a tight end after losing Ben Watson and Chris Baker in the past couple weeks.
