UMaine AD Blake James Leaving for The U in Miami

According to a report by Jenn Menendez in the Press Herald, University of Maine Athletic Director Blake James is taking another position at the University of Miami.

James, whose contract was due to end at the end in Novermber of 2012, had previously been linked to other jobs before last season. No word yet on other candidates.

UMaine athletic director Blake James, who has applied for the same position at Florida Gulf Atlantic, will not be getting the position (more on who will be right here). No word yet on what this means for his future at Maine, but he will not be heading to Florida Gulf Coast.

Thursday Morning Quick Hitters

The Maineiacs season is officially over, after being swept out of the first round of the playoffs. Drummondville beat Lewiston by a combined score of 38-9. That may actually be a record.

The Celtics fell to the Orlando Magic 84-82 with Kevin Garnett still playing restricted minutes. Big night from the perimeter for Orlando, hitting 10 three’s.

John Smoltz took the mound for the first time yesterday, throwing a fastball-only 40 pitch session. The next session is planned for Friday.
