July 4th

Happy 4th of July everyone!

  • The Sea Dogs swept a double-header from New Britain last night.
  • The Red Sox lost in extras to the Mariners 7-6, and a fan is getting the majority of the blame.
  • What do Hedo Turkoglu and Mark Teixeira have in common? They let there wives choose where they play.
  • Ryan Smyth was traded from Colorado to the LA Kings yesterday, which could possibly set forth some movement for the Bruins.

Sunday Morning Quick Hitters

Two Game 7's tonight and hockey returns? Only one word explains how we feel about that.

Finally!

  • The Sea Dogs split with New Britain yesterday. Lars Anderson blasted two homeruns in the early game win, and New Britain got even in the nightcap. Final game of this road trip today at 1:35 on the Sea Dogs Radio Network. The Dogs finally return to Hadlock for an actual homestand starting Tuesday. (get your tickets here)
  • UMaine baseball will not be in the playoffs despite a great year.
  • Red Sox finally figured out how to win in the Emerald City.
  • Celtics game 7 Tonight at 8 PM on TNT. Be prepared for promos of Jada Pinkett Smith's new show.

Thursday Morning Quick Hitters


The Maineiacs season is officially over, after being swept out of the first round of the playoffs. Drummondville beat Lewiston by a combined score of 38-9. That may actually be a record.


The Celtics fell to the Orlando Magic 84-82 with Kevin Garnett still playing restricted minutes. Big night from the perimeter for Orlando, hitting 10 three’s.


UMaine AD, Blake James up for the same position at a school in Florida.


John Smoltz took the mound for the first time yesterday, throwing a fastball-only 40 pitch session. The next session is planned for Friday.


Bill Belichick and staff attended the UConn Pro Day yesterday.
