• The Portland Sea Dogs wind up their road trip with a 6 – 2 loss to the Harrisburg Senators.
• The Boston Red Sox got 2 TD’s a 2 Pt conversions and…wait no that’s not true…The Boston Red Sox used 23 hits to out slug the Baltimore Orioles 18 – 10. Josh Reddick hit his 1st HR and Victor Martinez goes 5 – 6 in the rout.

Are House, Nyquist, and Flynn Coming Back To UMaine Next Season?

UMaine hockey coach Tim Whitehead appeared on the PM Jab with the CMSB's Chris Sedenka today to wrap up the season, and he made a very interesting comment about half way through it when Chris asked him about the scoring he had coming back next season, clearly talking about Gustav Nyquist, Tanner House, and Brian Flynn, the team's top three scorers....

Said Whitehead, "Yeah, almost 80% of our scoring came from our freshman and sophomores, that's a great sign for the future. On the defensive side, we lose two of our very best in (Matt) Duffy and (Simon Danis) Pepin. We got a great core coming back. We've got the two freshmen (Will)O'Neill and (Ryan) Hegarty, the sophomores (Mike)Banwell, (Josh)Van Dyk, and (Jeff)Dimmens, and a heckuva' freshman in Nick Pryor."

The CMSB Invades the Morning Jab!

The CMSB was all over the Morning Jab on March 16th. Chris Sedenka, the resident Big East and college sports analyst joined Shoe and Joe to talk about the NCAA Tournament.

Then Associate Editor Jeff Schools joined the boys in studio to talk about the University of Maine mens hockey team and their season ending at Boston University, the future of the program, and the future of head coach Tim Whitehead.

Saturday Live Blog Announcement

CMSB Live Blog Double-Shot!

Matty and Jeff will be running 2 live blogs in one day tomorrow. The first one will start a little before 1 p.m from the TD Banknorth Garden, covering the Boston Bruins as they host the Hartford Whalers (AKA Carolina Hurricanes). They will then find take the T across town and will blog the UMaine Hockey team's game against Boston University at 7 p.m.. It will be a very busy day at the CMSB, if you haven't taken part in one of the live blogs yet tomorrow will be as good a time as any, so drop by and check in all weekend long.

The Portland Sea Dogs Hot Stove Dinner is tonight and tickets are sold out. The Independent and The CMSB will have coverage of this event (in other words, Matty will be there in business casual wear), which will feature the reintroduction of Manager Arnie Beyeler, and an appearance by Red Sox reliever Justin Masterson.

The struggling Celtics travel to Cleveland tonight for a showdown with LeBron James and the Cavs.

The Umaine Men's B-Ball team knocked off Stony Brook.

The CMSB has a busy weekend planned. Saturday afternoon Jeff and Matty will have a live blog from the TD Bankorth Garden when the Bruins host the Whalers (yes, I said Whalers, suck it up Carolina fans) at 1. Then they will take the T across town and live blog the UMaine-BU hockey game at 7. Matty hopes to watch the Baltimore/Titans game somewhere in between (I could give a crap about the Panthers/Cards game), and Sunday morning's edition of the Vortex will be from 8am-11 am.
