• The Erie SeaWolves scored 10 runs in the 5th and 6th innings Wednesday Night to beat the Portland Sea Dogs 10 - 5 at Hadlock. Kason Gabbard makes his 2009 Sea Dogs debut tonight, go to seadogs.com for ticket information.
• USA Hockey has initiated new policies that make recruiting and scouting easier according to Tim Whitehead. Larry Mahoney from the BDN discusses the possibilities at Maine.
• John Smoltz has 4 easy up and down innings in his final rehab start fo the PawSox Wednesday. Clay Buchholz also pitched in the PawSox 9 - 3 win over Charlotte at McCoy Stadium.
• On a night where Fenway Park saw its 500th consecutive sell-out and fans got swag, Brad Penny pitched out of his own troubles on the way to the Sox 6 - 1 win over the Florida Marlins. There was concern for Penny when he took a line drive off the chest in the 1st, but he quickly recovered and still hit 97 on the gun.

• The Portland Sea Dogs returned home Tuesday, beating the Erie SeaWolves 5 - 0. Sea Dogs Catcher Mark Wagner continues to excel going 2-3 with a sac fly.

• Pete Warner of the Bangor Daily News keeps tabs on where the Maine Baseball team has spread out to since the season has been over.

• Tim Wakefield may have solidified his 1st All Star bid by handling the Florida Marlins 8 - 2 Tuesday at Fenway. David oritz hit his 4th HR in 9 games helping the Sox bat around in the 2nd inning.

• The Boston Red Sox slammed the Toronto Blue Jays 8 - 2 Sunday at the Skydome. Jon Lester had 12 strikeouts, the most by a Red Sox lefty since Bruce Hurst
• Boston College Baseball team played 43 innings over 3 days, finally bowed out of the 2009 College World Series prelim tournement.

• John Smoltz made his 2nd rehab start, this time for The Portland Sea Dogs in Manchester, NH. Oh yeah, there was a game too..Aaron Bates blasted his 5th HR in the 5 - 1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

• Jon Lester was not his usual self once again and Big Papi was dropped to 6th in the lineup as the Boston Red Sox lost to the Minnesota Twins 5 - 2.

• The Red Sox survived Brad Penny vomiting(literally) and a pinch hit homer from Joe Mauer and hung on to beat the Twins on Memorial Day 6-5.
• The Sea Dogs 9th inning comeback attempt ended when Argenis Diaz was thrown out at the plate.
• Clay Buchholz pitched a gem for the PawSox, nearly throwing a perfecto on Memorial Day.
